America's Love Affair with Aussie Fare
The
Australian Trade Commission is launching its best
at Whole Foods Market® stores nationwide with
a series of delicious demos of select gourmet
food products --
June 14, 2006 (Washingtion, DC) - The Australian
Trade Commission (Austrade) has announced its
partnership with some of Australia's leading gourmet
food producers to offer a first taste of their
home-grown favorites to U.S. consumers. Austrade
expects American palates to be excited by the
new flavors, textures and variations, all exemplary
of the organic quality and irresistible panache
of Aussie style.
The Australian Trade Commission will be showcasing
its finest gourmet foods from June through August
at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide with a
series of demonstrations. The demos feature
new products such as the G'Day Gourmet line of
flavored tunas and wild-caught salmon, creamy
King Island Dairy cheeses and delicious fruit
pastes from 34 degrees as well as high-quality
Australian olive oils, cheeses, crispbreads and
sundried tomatoes, among other products. All are prime
examples of the unique gourmet items now
available in the U.S. for Whole Foods
Market customers to enjoy.
According to the Australian Trade Commission's
Food Specialist, Peter Brennan, who is based in
Los Angeles, "We are very excited to be
part of the program to introduce Australia's favorite
specialty food items to Whole Foods Market customers.
Australia is one of the most pristine, clean environments
in which to produce food. We have more organically
farmed land than any country in the world,
so our foods are naturally more flavorful, with
no additives or chemicals."
Australia has the reputation as a leader in natural/organic
products because of its crystal clear fisheries
and unpolluted farmlands.
With the Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement
now in effect, quota increases and numerous tariff
reductions on seafood, cheeses, nuts, olives and
other gourmet food items, delicious Australian
gourmet food is now more available and affordable
to a broader American audience.
